GIRLS AAU TRYOUTS (Gr. 5 - HS)
Welcome to Peak Knights AAU Program Tryouts! We are very excited about the upcoming Spring season.
We are offering multiple tryout dates, and players are only required to attend (1) tryout. All players who try out for AAU teams will also be evaluated for the Peak League, so there is no need to register for a separate Peak League evaluation. The cost for a Tryout is $35.
In general, we anticipate forming up to (2) teams at most grade levels. AAU teams begin at Grade 5 for Girls and Grade 3 for Boys.
New this year for girls:
- At tryouts, all girls in grades 5–8 will be evaluated for placement on either a NJ Panthers team or a Peak Knights team.

With the exception of High School players, families will receive placement notifications no later than March 1st. In some cases, we may contact families earlier if additional evaluation is needed or if a placement decision can be made sooner. If an additional tryout is requested it will be at no cost to you.
Please know that we always have the best interest of your child in mind as we work to ensure proper placement. Our goal is to build competitive, well-balanced teams made up of players with similar skill levels. Evaluations consider individual skill, team skills, basketball IQ, effort, and position.
Girls Middle school Spring 2026 AAU/Travel Tryouts Info
Tryout / Practice Location: Peak Sports Academy
For: Girls Grades 5-8
Tryout Format + Fee
- Three (3) tryout dates for all players
- Tryout fee: $35
- Players must attend at least 1 tryout, but are welcome to attend (2) or all (3)
Middle School Tryout Dates
- Sunday, January 25
- Saturday, February 7
- Saturday, February 21
Middle School Tryout Times (by Grade)
- Grades 5–6: 5:30–7:00 PM
(1 court for 5th grade; 1 court for 6th grade) - Grades 7–8: 7:00–8:30 PM
(1 court for 7th grade; 1 court for 8th grade)
Practice Locations & Program Growth
Peak is pleased to announce the NJ Panthers Middle School teams will practice at both Peak Sports Academy and Downtown Sports Club in North Jersey. These locations will serve as hubs for training, development, and team practices, supporting the continued growth and regional reach of the NJ Panthers program. In addition, this allows Peak to enhance and elevate its Girls program, offering an additional competitive team option through the NJ Panthers while maintaining a strong development pathway within Peak.
Tryouts & Team Placement
Peak Knights and NJ Panthers tryouts will be held together at Peak Sports Academy. Invitations will be sent to players selected for each respective team.
All practices for both Peak Knights and Jr. NJ Panthers Middle School teams (Grades 5–8) will be held at Peak Sports Academy. Some exceptions may apply and will be communicated as needed.
Girls Spring 2026 Season Team Structure
(Grades 5–8)
Dates: March 14-June 15, 2026
At each grade level (5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th), we anticipate forming:
- 1 Peak team
- 1 NJ Panthers team
Peak Knights
- Teams: 1 per grade (5th–8th)
- Tournaments:
- 5 local tournaments
Jr. NJ Panthers
- Teams: 1 per grade (5th–8th)
- Tournaments:
- 4 local tournaments
- 2 sleepaway tournaments
Players who are not selected for a travel team (Peak Knights or NJ Panthers) will also be evaluated for the Peak League.

Please note that no player is guaranteed a roster spot, including those who have participated in Peak programs in previous seasons. The following are the possible outcomes for your child:
Invited to an AAU team
Our AAU teams practice a minimum of two times per week for 90 minutes per practice and tournaments are on weekends. Your invitation will include details such as specific practice days and times, tentative tournament dates, coach, costs and other important information. Tournament dates and game times are not known until typically a few days before a tournament weekend. Players are required to be at all practices and tournaments. Each tournament has additional admission fees, even ones located at Peak.
Invited to The Peak League
(if available at age group)
The Peak League is new and is designed to combine the best individual components of our Rising Stars program with more formal team play and meaningful game minutes of AAU. All games and practices will be played at Peak. The Peak League is devoted to the development of players that have potential to do well in AAU, AAU level players who cannot commit to AAU given other seasonal activities (baseball/softball, etc.).
The cost is $695. Practices and game days and times are predefined and consistent (available on our website). Teams in the league play other teams in the league - they are all Peak teams.

Our Rising Stars and skills and scrimmages programs are focused on building strong fundamentals and building the love of the game!
In all scenarios, Spring season kicks off on March 14th and ends in the early to mid June timeframe.
