John McGuire

John McGuire has been coaching since 1999 and has coached basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and track. He graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in History and focus on Education (Graduated Cum Laude). Holds a Masters degree in Educational leadership (Administration) from Walden University (Graduated Cum Laude). John was an educator since 1996-2013 (Elizabeth middle school social studies). Hoops There It Is Basketball was created in 2006 as a summer camp. In 2008/2009 the clinic and AAU programs were formed. Coach McGuire has seen amazing growth in players, families, culture, and overall performance. He is proud of the community first approach and the active community membership. He believes Hoops There It Is (and now Peak Sports Academy) is a sports community where all are welcome. We demand the best of each player and family as we strive to be better everyday. Together we can achieve greatness, one player at a time. We are an active and caring community. Bringing the joy of sports back to the youth.
Kevin Perez
Facility Manager
Kevin Perez joins our staff at Peak Sports Academy as our Facility Manager. A native of Union City, NJ Kevin went on to play collegiate baseball at Becker College where he holds the record for the most hits by a catcher in school history and received his Bachelors Degree in Sports Management. Following graduation Kevin went on to receive his MBA graduate degree where he served as a graduate assistant at Johnson & Wales University. Prior to Peak Kevin served as an intern for the Worcester Railers Minor League Hockey team, where he assisted the organization in preparation for its inaugural season. He previously served on the Operations Team at then startup company StockX. Kevin has been a volunteer coach within the MLB RBI World Series tournament where he consistently dedicates his time to give back to his community. His experience and passion makes him a vital asset to our team and its success.
Griffin Murray
Digital Media and Marketing Manager
Griffin Murray is currently a senior at Westfield High School, graduating this spring. He has been with Peak since its inception. His digital media and marketing experience includes training and working for Spring Street Digital and Wellform Media. He has years of experience working with and growing social media pages on many platforms, along with years of graphic design, videography and other media skills. He is excited to pursue a degree in Marketing, and further his career at Peak Sports Academy. He is extremely happy with the path that Peak is on and is proud to say he works for such a great business, with amazing people, and a big future.
Joy Mulzoff
Facility Coordinator
Joy Mulzoff is a senior in high school at Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ. She currently plays basketball for Mount and serves as a co-captain for her team, they had an amazing season and finished 12-0 in the regular season. Joy previously played in the Hoops There It Is program and enjoyed her time there where she was able to learn valuable skills both on and off the court. She is attending James Madison University in the Fall of 2021, where she plans to major in Biology and hoping to play on the club basketball team.
Nikolette Aponte
Facility Coordinator
Nikolette is a junior at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School located in Edison, New Jersey, where she played basketball for two years. She was a starting Varsity player and the captain of the Wardlaw-Hartridge basketball team since her freshman year. She is also the starting Varsity goal keeper on her high school soccer team named as one of the top goal keepers in New Jersey. Nikolette played for the Jersey Cardinals and New Jersey Freedom AAU teams her freshman year traveling out of state to play at EYBL tournaments, Nike Nationals, Run for Roses, and much more. All the way back in 2010, Nikolette started playing with the Hoop There It Is Knights as a player in all the camps and on the AAU basketball team.
Harrison Greeley
Facility Coordinator
Harrison Greeley is currently a senior at Westfield High school. He joined the Peak team in early 2021 as a facility coordinator, but now he’s a part of the Peak community. Passionate in all forms of sports from basketball to boxing to skiing, he loves it all. His dream is to climb Mt. Everest one day but for now he’s here to help you reach your Peak.
